Meg Freitag was born in Maine. She has a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA from UT Austin's Michener Center for Writers, where she was a finalist for the 2015 Keene Prize for Literature. Her work can be found in Tin House, Boston Review, Black Warrior Review, Narrative, and Indiana Review, among other journals. Meg's first book, Edith, was selected by Dorianne Laux as winner of the 2016 BOAAT Book Prize and was published by BOAAT Press in late 2017.
Currently Meg is studying fiction at the Iowa Writers' Workshop. She lives in Iowa City with her partner, Mark, and their dogs, Ramona and Winnie.
